DAMON CARROLL started playing and writing songs at the age of 16.
At 19 he was opening shows for Quicksilver Messenger Service and Roy
Buchanan at the Texas Electric Ballroom.  In 1977 he got the opportunity to meet Eric Johnson
and open shows for him at Cheatum Street Warehouse in San Marcos.  In 1981 Damon started the
original Damon Carroll Band and then later played in a band called Monsoon. In 1984 Damon took
1st place in the Texas Songwriters Association Songwriting Competition.  Then in the late 80’s he
was with a new band called 3DK, and then later The Neverly Brothers.  Damon recorded his first
album – Destination Unknown – in 1994.  Some songs on this album can be heard playing on
KIKT, 93.5 in Greenville, TX.  He has also done an in studio appearance on KNON, 89.3 in Dallas,
TX.  Damon’s major influence was Neil Young -  (and Cheryl, of course!).

JONATHAN JAMISON took music classes in school. He majored in music in
high school. He plays bass, saxophone & clarinet. Jonathan joined Common Ground
with Larry and some friends in 1998 and played with them for 2 years.  Jonathan’s influences
were original music, techno, and folk rock.

SCOTT KNAPP's love of music began as a child growing up on The Beatles and
Elvis Presley.  He originally wanted to play the drums, but his parents disapproved.
He got his first guitar at the age of 16 from a local pawn shop.  Scott has played in local bands in
Austin, Oklahoma, Las Vegas, Alaska & Dallas.  Scott considers himself to be a music fan who
just happens to play guitar.  Scott's influences include The Beatles, Rush, Ian Moore and his
beautiful wife Angela.

LARRY WHITLEY’S love for drums began as a child in grade school.
After Marching band and Jazz band in high school he dropped out of music for
about 12 years.  Larry picked it up again in 1990 on a more professional level.  Larry began
playing with his good friend Damon Carroll in 1997.  It was a three piece all original band and
required a lot of percussion work.  Larry later played with The Neverly Brothers, along with
Damon.  In 1999 Larry began playing with Christian Rock group Spirit Jewel, who also did all
original works.  They performed at the Door in Deep Ellum and Dream World in Arlington.  They
recorded for the first time at Planet Dallas under Rick Rooney’s supervision.  In July 2000 he
joined Common Ground, who played classic rock.  Larry’s major influences were John Bonham &
Carter Buford.

BEVERLY SHOEMAKER:  This is Beverly's first time singing with a band.
Beverly has alway really enjoyed singing and loves  to join in with the local talent at
Son's of Hermann, Adairs, and other local circle jams and parties.  She has been singing with
TheDCB since June of 2006 and she has been a great addition to the band.

SHELBI BRISTOW:   Shelbi Bristow started singing with the Damon Carroll Band
September 2007. This is her first experience singing with a real band! She has been
singing and writing songs since she was 6 years old! When she is not having fun making music
with the band, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends and playing sports!

DAMON, JONATHAN, SCOTT, LARRY, BEVERLY & SHELBI  all really love playing original music
so it only stands to reason they decided to get together and bring back THE DAMON CARROLL
BAND.  They have played at lots of festivals, campouts and benefits such as The Deep Ellum Arts
Fest, Pickin' In The Pines, Taboo Tavern @ Screams Park, the Royse City Fun Fest, Bill's Fest,
Hurricane Relief Benefits at Texas Tea House and Liquid Lounge.  The band has also played at
many Dallas area venues such as Sons of Hermann Hall (where they opened for Brave Combo),
Shiney’s Paradise Grill, Hank's Texas Grill, Club Dada, Liquid Lounge, Club Clearview, Muddy
Waters, Winedale Tavern, Lota’s Goat, The West End Pub, Lakewood Bar & Grill, The Balcony
Club, Enchiladas, The Box Car and Linda’s Round Up.  The band was showcased on Dallas
Cable Access TV on The Singer Songwriters Showcase.  And they have had several songs
played on KNON.  They can be seen around town at local “pickin party” and “open mic” venues
such as The Sons of Hermann Hall, Adairs, Lakewood Bar & Grill, The Eagles Lodge and
Winedale Tavern.  They all enjoy playing festivals, benefits, camp outs and lakeside gigs along
with small intimate taverns and open-air bars.    Damon also plays solo spots at many local area
venues.
